Email Notification - instant for forum?
 

I have a number of users that would like instant email notification whenever a new thread is started in a forum. This just seems like something someone would have hacked already but I can't find it. Am I blind, missing the hack somewhere?

it'd be great to have one that's admin controlled (and not user) where notifications go out whenever a new thread occurs in the forums the admin selects.

Did you ever find a plug-in for this? We need to be able to force an instant notification (to the user's email address) for selected post by an admin regardless of what the user's notification preferences are.

We've got to find this for our group, but I've looked and looked.

Any thoughts?

Is there a hack for this yet? I also would like to set up some forums or thread and automatic notification manually by admin for entire usergroups.
