Registration code sent to phone (SMS)
I'm looking for this hack:
1.) During the registration process the user is asked to enter his mobile number. 2.) A registration code will be sent to this number via SMS. 3.) The user gets write permissions immediately after entering the correct code in a field. (vBulletin should require a unique phone number for each user.) Any suggestions? |
Any suggestions? Yes! Provide documentation for the SMS gateway you would like to use.

I would use an e-mail to SMS gateway. I think that's the easiest way.

I also would be interested in this. If anyone has ever registered for an account on spymac, this is exactly what is done there. (you enter your cell phone number and you registration code is texted to you) VERY slick!

Is that documentation sufficient? The SMS gateway API is very simple. The real work I guess would be the modification of the registration process. Are there any current mods that could be easily tweaked to implement something like this? |
anyone reached a solution for this?
