Random Smilies - PLUGIN

First of all Thanks to GuaRRand for the code as posted in this thread: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=99426

Thanks to BluPheonix for the original hack for vB 3.0.x.

This will display random smilies in the smilie box when creating new threads and posts.

I would post screenahots, but they keep changing on me...lol  .

Just extract the XML from the zip file and import the plugin.

... good idea...

btw, please don't display your thanks in the thread title, but in the post itself... credits are good in threads, even better because we all see them.. titles are not that populars.. lol

Nice, but I prefer the file edit - One less query ran on loading the editor ;)

If you give all your smileys a display order of '1' they appear randomly anyway

It does with mine ... my members were complaining about them always swapping 'cos they didn't like change

It didn't seem to do anything for me.

lordofgun 10-28-2005 01:39 AM

Doesn't work for me either.

I don't think it works by just doing a refresh on the reply or new post page.

What I found out is that (I could be wrong) it caches the smilies for that post / reply.

If you go to a different thread and hit reply or post then you'll see a different set of smilies.

I didn't think it worked at first...but after an hour of testing i realized that it DID work...just that the cache had to be circumvented.
