forumdisplay hack idea

Haven't seen this hack yet. Thinking of making a hack where posters can hit a button on the newthread.php page that will force a custom post icon and maybe add text to the thread title (possibly not make it part of the thread title though).

basically I need certain threads marked so they'll be noticed quicker.

if you just want the post to be noticed then you should try finding the hack that bumps threads up. I think, if I remember correctly from the description, that you just choose which posts you want to move to the top and select bump and presto-changeo they get moved up. (without having to add a new post to the thread)

but if you're looking for something to make them easier to spot besides and having them at the top of the forum isn't enough then I guess it wouldn't work for what you're trying to accomplish.

here's the link.. looks like its done one thread at a time.

I may use that hack for something else entirely, but it's not needed for posts to be at the top of the stack, just to be marked. Marked threads may need to be found months after they were last viewed by anyone.

Come to think of it, an auto search tool for these marked threads would be cool as well, but if they all have a specific phrase after the thread title, that'd be cake to do.

Your thinking something like the thread prefix hack?

I don't think it's been ported yet though I really hope it does soon :(

Yeah, that'd work. Just PM'd him asking if he was going to port it, ETA, or if not, could someone else do it.

I've been dying to see that get ported to 3.5.
