Is there such a hack that inputs all major holidays or such?

no, you need to do them via the calendar itself or the holiday manager in the ACP.

I've just had a look to see if I could export mine but it isn't possible without extracting the info from the database. I'll see if I can sort something out for you.

I wish the calendar could import ical files which seem to a good open source standard w/ plenty of calendars available.

actually import and export of iCal files would be fantastic.
