Show No Permission Message If User Cannot View Others Threads In A Forum

Template edits - 1
New Phrases - 1

IMPORTANT: In order to activate this, users MUST have permission to view the forum, but not to view others threads.

This is a BETA mod. At present, if there are no threads in the last x days (where x days is the time set in the forum manager or the usercp, if different) then the no permission message will be displayed.

To install, follow the instructions in the attached file.

If you have installed this, please click the install button. All updates will be notified via mail to those who have installed.

Important information regarding support - 20/04/06
Due to time constraints and the amount of things that are being planned for future modifications, priority support will now be provided here. Support provided in this thread will be on an as and when basis.

peterska2 08-21-2006 01:05 PM

it should still work fine on 3.6 but it is untested and unsupported at this time.

Is there any fix available for this:

Quote:

If there are no threads in the last x days (where x days is the time set in the forum manager for that forum, or in the usercp if different), then this shows that they do not have permission instead of there being no threads in that forum.

not without completely rewriting it into a product which I am not planning to do yet.

The best fix is to have your forums set to display all threads by default.
