Display x Minutes

Hello, im trying to build a template that shows how long that a user has been away for, in minutes (need this code)

I know that if a user leaves and never comes back, it will keep adding and adding... but, what about once they reach 10000 you add a + beside it... and then it stops until they log on... (need this code)

how would i go about doing this

(i also need to put this in the postbit)
