Hack Req: Calendar entry generates e-mail to local newspapers
Hi I have a regional site that is starting to pick up some traffic.... The calendars are popular but I have to aggregate events from several sources, and would like to train users to start posting events themselves. What I'd like to do is make my site the primary place to post, not a secondary one.
Today, event owners need to call/e-mail both local newspapers (and other places) to list events. My site is just one extra piece of work. I'd like to set up an option on the calendar entry form to e-mail the local papers (and other sources I could add) when users post an event. It would look like this:
This way, people can post events in multiple places from my site, and I become the default option. Sweet! Has anybody coded this, or could somebody? I'd be willing to pay a reasonable fee for this. Thx. p.s. I know my board is on 3.09 right now, moving to 3.5 as soon as my mods catch up. Dutch Manager, quaboag.net |
