Raffle Hack
 

what this hack does:
this hack is a raffle addition to a forum, it was created to a specifaction as a service request, and is now being released publicly, which may make it a little prohibiting to users trying to use it outside of its intended use. raffle tickets are earnt by users posting a certain amount of posts, if that user was referred by another user the user that referred them will gain the same number of tickets. raffle details are shown publicly by posts by a user specified to be the raffle bot, and by the number of raffle tickets a user has shown in their profile. raffles are set and edited in the admincp panel. a raffle can ended prematurely postponed or aborted. usergroups can be excluded from raffles aswell as forums. the templates that posts appear as can be edited too. postponed raffles will automatically add tickets into new raffles. aborted raffles tickets are destroyed and never drawn.

what is changed when this hack is installed?
there will be three new database tables. a number of new files need to be uploaded. 3 files and 2 templates need to be edited. each time a page with a postbit template is ran there will be 2 extra queries for the raffle system. the raffle is updated by the cron, which should be run once in a day minimum, but once an hour idealy, this can vary from 1 query to about 15+ if there are postponed raffles.

how to install

software limitations
no uninstall is included.
software does not automatically edit files you must do it.
tested only on 3.0.8 and 3.0.7
raffle's can be theoretically edited unlimited times but will seem to appear unedited if max characters for a post are reached no more will be added.

Hello, I hope you will convert it to vB 3.5, especially since vB went gold and most will step over as this is probably also a highly wanted addition, at least I want it so bad for my vB3.5 board.

i have this installed on my board as i requested and everything is working tip top excellent hack

currently i have very little time as i've got to do a lot of work to get my board running on 3.5. i might update this to 3.5 if i find myself with free time but i'm getting a lot of jobs at the mo and they have to take priority.

The file edits need some work but nice hack... I had to manually look for all the code because my find program couldn't find it the way you have them listed.
