adding chat and blogs
 
How easy would it be to add chat and blogs to a paid subscription v bullietin forum site ? Can anyone offer advice that is not too techie ?

There are a few chat systems available to our licensed customers for download.

I am not sure what you expect from a blog, but there might be hacks available that will give you the finctionality you want. Otherwise it is in most of the cases not too difficult to integrate member validation into other pages of your site (assuming they are coded in php).
