Remember vbAssistant?
 
That little hack rocked. I can't seem to pull up the thread now or I'd link it ... it was basically a popup that you could leave open while surfing other sites, and it refreshed ever so often to let you know about new posts, pm's etc. Anything simliar to that on 3.5?
