Adding custom field to new threads?

I have a VBulletin 3.0.9 setup and I'm trying to add a field that users can fill out when they're making a new thread.

There's of course the Title and Message fields, but I'd like to add a "Your Name:" field and have their entry appear when the thread is posted.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Great Hack!

NICE! One of my favorite hacks now.

What they are sarcastically trying to tell you is that you posted your question in the wrong forum.

But to help you, there are a couple ways to go about this, but I am not entirely sure of what you need. Do you want this field to be different every single time they post? Like a "now listening to" field? Or do you want it to stay the same for each post, like a "real name" field that would show up in their posts?

It was fun though.

@all who thought it was needed to make funny/sarcastic remarks.

Please use the report button if a post is in the wrong forum. No need to make these remarks.

Well, it seems like it was a General Modification post... anyway...

Thanks Bad Bunny. Here's the story: I've basically setup VB with a single users. My boss wanted a place that kids could upload MP3s of their foreign language recordings. But him being an idiot and such, there's only a single account. The problem with this is there's no good way to tell who posted a file - right now he's telling our students to put their initials in the subject line, so it would be a lot better if I could add-in a line that let them manually type in their name, and have that appear in the post (kinda like a 'second subject line', if you will).

Any help would be appreciated, thanks again!
