Reply To for Reported Post eMails

Another ultra-simple Hack ...

Description
When somebody reports a Post, you (or the assigned Moderator(s)) get an eMail like this:

Quote:

KirbyDE ( mailto:kirby@woh.car.es ) has reported this post: Badpost
...
This Hack sets the Reply To:-Header for this eMail to the eMail-Address of the User who made the report, so you can directly reply to it.

Installation
Import the Plugin (!) XML

Will this work as is with the reported post creates new thread we worked on the other day? And what will happen if the user does not have an email address (user added via the Admin CP)? ;)

I don't think it will work with other Hacks that (might) cause eMails being sent by report.php, although it could be possible to get it compatible with further checks.

If the sender does not have an eMail-Address the Header will be blank. Hmm, interesting quesion is if that is RFC compliant.
Guess I should add a check for this ;)

What kind of checks would it take to get it to work with the reported post creates new thread? Or would it be more trouble than it is worth? This would make a great addon. ;)

I like most of your hacks. :)

Any hope for my request in Post 4? ;)

You would have to check if the eMail that is being sent is the report post email and not smth. else.

Yes, it is. ;)

Boofo 09-25-2005 06:21 AM

Ok, how would I do that then? ;)

Andreas 09-25-2005 06:29 AM

I don't know if that is possible at all :)
Would have to look it up.
