default layout - the only changes are the green hues vs the standard blue

I recommend green and brown - maybe a splash of blue here and there (natural colors).

Just curious but do you face any extra legal obstacles with this type of site?

Depends on where the server is located. For example www.overgrow.com was hosted in Canada last time I checked.
