Plugins, Products uninstall
Hi,
I have one short question before upgrading to vB 3.5 and installing new hacks. At the moment every hack update is a lot of work and in most cases this means file editing. Every board owner knows that when the time comes to update the whole board to a new version all the hacks must be checked afterwards again. vb3.5 is using a new way to handle modifications, plugins, products. Until now I have not played around with these functions so I have some questions. 1) How can a plugin be updated? 2) How can I uninstall a complete hack now in version 3.5? 3) What does hacking mean if a board update is available? Regards jluerken |
1) This will depend on the hack and can vary from uninstalling/reinstalling to just install the new version.
2) This will depend on the hack and can vary from uninstalling to manual actions. 3) This will depend on the hack and can vary from uninstalling/reinstalling to no action needed. PS Bottom line, i don't know :D |
1) If it is packaged as a Product, you normally just have to overwrite its additional Files (if any) and import the new Product XML
2) If it is packed as a Product, just click Uninstall and remove its additional Files (if any) 3) If you are using Hacks that require Files edits you will have to reapply them for every vBulletin Update - as it was in the Past. But as Marco saif: It all depens on the Hack. |
