SWF Clock & Calendar At Bottom Of FORUMHOME

What does this extension ?
- I uploaded a screenshot about this. I think it's clear. :glasses:

Note : I tested it on internet explorer and Opera ; with internet explorer working well ; but with Opera, the swf clock didn't work..

- Upload the "clock_calendar.swf" in your parent "forum" directory.

- In FORUMHOME template, change all of codes between these lines;
HTML Code:

<!-- icons and login code -->
...
...
<!-- / icons and login code -->

With these below;
HTML Code:

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="2" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
<tr valign="bottom">
        <td align="center">
                <table cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="1" bordercolor="#416E88">
                <tr>
                        <td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/forum_new.gif" alt="$vbphrase[contains_new_posts]" border="0" /></td>
                        <td class="smallfont">&nbsp; $vbphrase[forum_contains_new_posts]</td>

<!-- clock -->

<td rowspan="4"><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" width="147" height="139" align="center" border="0" hspace="1">

</tr>
<!-- / clock -->

                </tr>
                <tr>
                        <td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/forum_old.gif" alt="$vbphrase[contains_no_new_posts]" border="0" /></td>
                        <td class="smallfont">&nbsp; $vbphrase[forum_contains_no_new_posts]</td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                        <td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/forum_old_lock.gif" alt="$vbphrase[a_closed_forum]" border="0" /></td>

</td></tr>
                </table>
        </td>
</tr>

</table>

- In the codes (abowe) find this (2 times) ; And rename (correct) the green codes like your site.
Code:

http://www.yoursite.com/forum/clock_calendar.swf
- In footer template find and erase these codes (optional - this will remove the default vBulletin clock) ;
HTML Code:

<br />
<div class="smallfont" align="center">$vbphrase[all_times_are_gmt_x_time_now_is_y]</div>

thanks, but why not zip and upload the swf here instead of using a file sharing service?

Kirk Y 09-05-2005 12:58 AM

Download the .swf from that site and upload it to yours... but yeah, I agree that'd be the normal thing to do.

Boofo 09-05-2005 02:08 AM

Can you please include the swf and a text file with the instructions in a zip for those that might want to re-install it later on?

I agree that zipped would be good. But the benefit of using file sharing is that if the clock swf file is updated then your linked version is autoupdated with it.

Boofo 09-05-2005 04:07 AM

But it's better to not use outside links for hack contents. ;)

No- that is not true, it only links to the file uploaded at that server, and that server is not the "source" of that flash file - that .swf file has been floating around the net for quite awhile, and it has never been updated, to my knowledge

It doesn't work for Firefox... unless I'm missing something.
