Why not make a donate to the victims of hurricane Katrina in header/footer?

VB.org should consider something like that.

We have considered it. The global announcement was our decision, as made clear in the previous closed thread.

there is too much discussions about Katrina actually... someone can apply a banner for donations for us here that were hit by the tail of Katrina, i can't go to my step-mother this week-end because the roads are all broken... ??

i use sarcasm here, but can everybody consider the fact that vBulletin.org is not the RedCross itself, so they have to make choices on what they display or not these banners... they explained themselves, and they helped on the level they think fits...

Of course they have a choice, as 'decided' as the matter may be, I hope they will choose to change their minds :)

Just a small point - but I (possibly like many) will rarely, if ever, see a global announcement as my link to the site takes me direct to GetNew [posts]. I Navigate the site from that screen.

The victims of Katrina need water, food, clothes, homes, money, jobs, time to mourn the loss of mothers, fathers, sons & daughters ... almost everything one can imagine ... but, I sincerely doubt that anyone is in need of your sarcasm.

Word.
