Looking for Thread / User

I read a thread here recently (although it was an older thread), and stupidly did not subscribe to it.

I'm hoping someone can help me find it. Searching has driven me batty.

The OP was a coder from the East Coast, his avatar was a pic of himself (I believe).

The thread was about educating users on forum features so that they can best make use of them. It was sort of a guide.

Anyone?

I would really appreciate it.
