Worth Installing Hacks?

i'm on 3.5 rc2, have to get my community page running as soon as possible. so somebody tell me, is it worth installing hacks already? i've already installed alot of hacks, plugins and extensions mostly. is it worth going at it like this. i even want to install some file edits now, but if i do that... and have to (which yes i definately will once it's out) update to RC3... is it even worth installing hacks and doing file edits? or...

1) is the upgrade likely to cause troubles on my board.
2) will i have to re-install alot of the hacks simply because the files and templates will be set back when i upgrade?

I for one would not do File Edits at the moment.
Template changes however should be fine.

The point is to install features you NEED. If you can do without a feature that has code edits, do without it. But, if you have a legitimate reason, other than you think it's cool, to use it, do so.

i need to put my gallery back up, i used to run 4images and my members are going to go crazy if my gallery doesn't work, they loved and needed it. same with the arcades hack.

so if i install those now is that going to be a problem? or cause some conflicts for me when updating later? or will it be possible to do a manual update.

Coppermine worked on 3.5 for me without changing a single thing. Maybe you'll be lucky and 4images will as well.

vBA Gallery required very few file edits between versions - infact the vBa scripts are the only ones I've been willing to make file changes for - due to the fact I'm confident problems will be supported and the sheer size of the hacks warrant it. I have lots of plugins installed from here [about 70 I think] - very few required attention between version changes.
