Problems with 3.0.8
Hi there,
We've just had some problems with our forums with this last hack... The announcements and PMs all show up like a Guest user created them, and we are experiencing some browser freezing. Can you tell us how to solve this problem? Our forum's version is 3.0.8. Thanks, phib. |
I am not sure I understand your question. You installed AWS and you are facing problems with Announcements? AWS does not do anything with announcements. As for PMs, I still do not understand, when you send a PM, it appears as if it was send by a guest user? That does not make any sense.
Please give me some more details of your problems. |

Thanks. |
That means that the modifications you have done to your files are not correct. Check each file modifications and make sure you have done them as suggested.
Keep in mind that the instructions are written (and verified for) vB 3.0.7, so there might be some differences in the files. Usually these differences are not significant and the proper place to do the modifications is still easily found. If there is a case, where you are not sure, just let me know. Rgds |
Do you think to do an upgrade to 3.0.8? I think it would be great :)
(Sorry if my english isn't good, is not my 1st language :$) Regards, |
No, I do not plan to come up with updated instructions, since I have to port this thing to vB 3.5, so I do not think I should work anymore on older releases.
Sorry :( |
Thanks anyway :)

I have this problem too with 3.0.8. :(
In PMs, Announcements and View Post Only the author appears as a Guest. I'm almost sure that I've changed the files right. |
I am currently using AWS 3.4.16 on vB 3.0.8 and it is working fine. Please elaborate on your problems so I can help you.
|
I'll soon upgrade to vB 3.0.10, so I'll re-install the hack. If there are any problems again then, I'll let ya know.
