No Support For Requests?

what happened? there are so many threads in the 3.5 modification requests that remain unanswered? i dont know much but i atleast attempt to help when i can, how come you guys dont look in on those threads? some have 3 views and dont even get looked at, others have 20 views and not a single reply to them. what's wrong?

well i'm busy and i dont usually fill requests, i develop whatever pops into my head ^.^. also i have not started developing for 3.5

Wordplay, we are volunteers. We do what we can. There's a higher likelyhood of requests being filled by me if I plan to use them myself.

Also, I am MUCH more likely to fill a request for other contributors on the site than for people with no released hacks or graphics.

It's hard to contribute other than the random "you can find that here" response for those of us that aren't really familiar with PHP coding and couldn't make a vB hack or template from scratch to save our lives. That's why we come here to ask the experts.

well before someone mentions blah blah we need help of the developers etc. and this topic has been brought a zillion times!
let me rank this:

if you do not know the language your website is run on you really should not be administrating it. even more so, you should not being modifying/hacking it either since you obviously do not know what you are doing. i personally feel that this place isnt for, pardon my term, complete noobs who do not know how to code html or simple php. i believe before you even start to hack or administrate your board you should first learn what your website is running on and that is what will help you be a good webmaster.
[/rant]

ok that was my rant;)

I think alot of people are still waiting for 3.5 to go Gold before releasing ported hacks. I also think there is a quiet group of users who don't plan on upgrading anytime soon (have you seen what version this site is running? ;))

Well, I know HTML but not much PHP (pretty much none). That's why I come here every day to learn new things and to feel like I'm part of the community. Just because we don't know how to code PHP doesn't mean we can't hack our boards either-the more we hack, the more we learn. Speaking for myself, whenever I install a new hack, I look at how it works so that I can try to understand what the code means. About a year ago, I had no clue what a parse error on line 255 meant, but now I not only know what it is, I know usually how to fix it. Largely because I joined this community and gained knowledge from taking part in conversations and installing hacks.

I totally agree. I'm learning how to code in PHP, but for the time being, I'm trying to help others who are in my same position. Unfortunately there's not much we can do except refer those who have inquiries as to where they can find something, or help with the occassional "how do I do this in the admincp".

Why didn't you fulfill all of the requests?
