Username Change

Well, I am not sure what is going on or if it always like that or whatever..when I change a users name for them, it doesnt update there name in anything like, on forumhome where it shows the name who posted it shows there old name..like there old posts they posted..it still shows as there old name :( is there anyway to change this?
