Alert System
 

An idea where you can quickly alert users on your forum, particularly useful when you've got a bunch that don't like reading your announcements.

A moderator/admin/important person can use a form to send an alert to a particular user/usergroup/whole forum. When the affected users next load the forum, a popup message displays with the alert message, and then doesn't display to that user again. An alert can have an expiry date, after which it won't popup.

Could come in useful when you want to direct all online users to a particular thread you've just created or if you want to make sure a user receives and reads a message from you next time they come online.

sounds like a good idea, i would use it has i have users that just hang around one for and dont fully read other stuff.

I think Logician's would probley be the best for this. But it's not exactly what your looking for I suppose. But if you want to alert a user why not PM them and have the pm popup notification turned on?
