Popup Reference Hack

Hi, I have just put together a board to support my students and others taking thier first steps into the world of IT. Now we use common terms everyday that we just take for granted, but as these are new users I don't want them to be baffled by reading something that should be making things clearer.

The hack I would like is something that will enable me to add words to the database with a description, this is the simple part.

when a post is made any words in the post that match up with database entries would automaticaly be turned into a hyperlink, the user clicking on this link (the word) would then get a small pop-up with the description associated with it.

I would attempt the hack myself, but I specialise in other areas, I know I wouldn't be bale to achieve this.

I think this would be a great hack for anybody wanting to reference to other parts of thier site, maybe there could be a choice of the word popping up a description or linking to somewhere else.

I'm sure all you competent hack writers are already buzzing an idea together for how this would work, good luck.
