Expiring License?

When you purchase an "owned license," what happens after the "expiration date"? I thought owned licenses didn't expire..?

you cant upgrade to the latest releases.. but you can use the copy of vb that you bought for as long as you want.

and yes you can still download attachments here and at vb.com

The owned license doesn't expire. But you have to pay the yearly fee to be able to download the updates on the com. ;)

After the support period on an owned license expires, you will not be able to download new releases that where released after your support year. You can at any time buy a new year of support for $30.

This is however a topic that can be officially answered at vbulletin.com.

I wouldn't call it "support year", as you'll always get support with an owned license.

Also true. :D

basically you loose access to the download's area in the vbulletin.com member's area. without access to this you can not download new software versions of vbulletin. you can easily renew your access to the downloads by paying $30 annually. jelsoft will however, always provide security and bug patches to you free of charge for your current software version when they become available, usually attached to the bottom of a release post.
