Question About Moving Servers & SQL
 
Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well!!

Question...currently I am running VB 3.0.8 on a server with mySQL 4.1.13.

Now I know vbulletin had issues with a bug in SQL 4.1.X so they ran some queries to fix that.

If I move to a server that is running a earlier version of mySQL, will those queries be a problem? Lets say it is running something prior to 4.1.X

No those queries will not be a problem, but you might need to make the backup in compatibility mode.

To what version are you moving?

Ok forgive me, however, how do you do the backup in compatibility mode? At this time I use SSH to do the database dump. Thanks!
