User Optional Censorship

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=63875

Basically requesting this for 3.5 as it was heavily used on my board and missed by my members :)

ditto...great hack, one that can even be tweaked to censor smilies :D

BamaStangGuy 08-05-2005 06:20 AM

bump :)

:)...

There's one out that will allow you to censor by forum, will that work? ;)

woodysfj40 08-11-2005 06:03 PM

much preferred to be user selected....some of the forum members like the use of specific smilies :D

Maybe if you use the preg replace like the /me code, but do it in global start?

Problem with that is you'd have to be VERY picky about what you censor =/ or you'd interfere with http links and such like the /me hack is having probs with.

Not sure how else to do it without it going into the post cache as censored or not.

No it needs to be user optional, thanks though.

It already exists for 3.0.x but it looks like the Author isnt active anymore...

I really need this :(

Boofo 08-18-2005 11:41 PM

How about using a profile field?

BamaStangGuy 08-18-2005 11:43 PM

How so?

I just really have grown fond of useing the replacement variable way because it does this for all posts regardless of whether they are cahced or not.

Seems I have read the profile field way does not work with cached posts.

Well after alot of work I have finally managed to port the 3.0.x version to 3.5 as a code hack...

Can't release it though since the original author is not around to give me permission to atleast that is how I understand it correct?
