Get New Posts in this Forum

Hack: Get New Posts in Individual Forums
For: Tested on vBulletin version 3.0.7
By: sketch42
Vers: 1.0

Description:
Well i basically made this since i have several forums, one of which is pretty large.
Because of this fact when users use the NEW POSTS link in the navbar it causes a problem, most stay within
one or two forums.
So what this does is add a new Link in Forum Tools to just get the New Posts within that forum.
Now you maybe asking yourself ummmm well arent the Threads with new posts Bumped up to the top of the page
and in bold??? yes they are
BUT this is usefull for those forums with subforums now the user can goto to the main forum click a link
and have all new posts in both that and its sub forums.
Some may say its a useless hack... but some forums may find it usefull... to each his own.

LOL .... ok for those that didnt understand my 2:30am Nonsense
maybe my 5:30am gibberish would make more sense :lick:

say you have FORUM X and FORUM Y

FORUM X has no sub forums while FORUM Y has 5 sub forums and User1 never visits FORUM X as it is right now if they want to see the new posts in FORUM Y only they cant.. they must get all the new posts from the entire board or go through FORUM Y and all its sub forums to get only the new posts there

--FORUM X

--FORUM Y
--Sub Forum 1
--Sub Forum 2
--Sub Forum 3
--Sub Forum 4
--Sub Forum 5

what this hack does is give the user the ability to check FORUM Y and all its sub forums for new posts without stepping foot out of FORUM Y or steppin foot into its subs and without the getting any new posts from any other forums.

im assuming although i cant sayfor sure that this would be less server intense, although probably minimal, than grabbing all new posts from the whole board.

i hope this explanation helps.

any and all feedback would be appreciated
