Shrinking inline images?

When posting an image from another site using the 'img' tag, is there a way to limit the size that's displayed within the post? If not, is it possible to create a plugin to do so?

I'm kinda desperate for this one folks! I'm getting clobbered on the test bed with huge images.

Yes I am also looking for this option, as I need to post lots of images too :(
