is this possible or a hack
 

im looking for a software/hack that will put a small icon in the desktop tray and will alart members with a noise and maybe a small bubble window above (like MSN when a user comes on line) when a new post is posted in a specific forum they chose

for example

if a member posts in my general chat room and a member has this option and has the software installed it will alert them to a new post in this room?

be good for mods aswell to mod there forums and great for members who take an interest in certain rooms :)

not a messenger more like a post alerter

would be great also if you could adjust your profile (usercp options VIA this aswell)

I think this would be a software, not a hack for vbulletin

it would be both you would certainly need some kind of modification to achieve this

but yes mainly software...

it would also be better to have the software check for updates in the chosen rooms every say 5-10 minutes than have a perminate connection as this would be resource intensive...

not sure i will ask a member of mine who writes software to thinka bout this aswell

But the Backend still needs a bit of work, does not check permissions at all - lol.

would it be possible to edit your profile via this with another tab when you open the tool ?

basic profile settings like

signature
invisable mode
Time

mainly signature would be nice ;)

and a search feature that would open a browser with the search results would just be awsome addon

im asking to much sorry but this is an awsome software package and a must for any forum user and admin/mod
