I currently am the moderator at www.code.sc and helped develop the theme.

YES! I KNOW it is a lot like the default - but I have made a fair amount of changes.

Please take a look and tell me what you think / suggestions.

It does look like the default style, but I see you have made some changes. My recommendation is to keep going, maybe by changing the color scheme and images to give it a bit more independance from the default skin.

Yes, your forum does looks good, but need maybe some good skins, buttons, etc.

I recommend a unique design.

You seem to have some graphical sense and some ability with Photoshop.

Why not go the extra step and fiddle with the colour scheme?

You've got the beginnings of a good look!
