Restrict Merge Posts: All posts must be from same user
 

Cool feature, but I don't like that my mods can (either on purpose or accidentally) merge posts from different users into one and assign those comments to one member.

Can anyone think of a way to restrict this so that the 'merge posts' function only works when all posts selected are from the same member?

It doesn't even have to be pretty -- it can be an error message on submit. It can kill their browser for all I care :p as long as it doesn't write the change to the database.

Haven't you just solved this yourself with this template hack ?

Mind you, perhaps you need to get some mods you actually trust. :)

It isn't an issue of trust in the least, it is an issue of being computer savvy. Nature of the board that I am tasked with keeping up. :)

We have already had some challenges with the checkboxes and inline moderation while on the test site.

That template mod states that this is for now -- as in until I can have a better fix as merging one user would be fine, but multiple users into one person's post is not good.
