General editing questions

Got a couple of questions here about customising style.

1. Over at vbulletin.org, the user profile of every post appear on the left column.

How can I go about changing it from the default style which shows profile at the top of each post?

2. Is it possible to do a bit of tweak to the files so that a small icon/graphic appears beside each forum title like the one below? It looks great :)
