Need to make a fast loading stye

Im tring to make or edit a style for dial up users. I want to remove the signature and avator as well as anything else that will slow it down Im using this for members with dial up. Could anyone give me any tips or tell me how to take the signatures and avator and rank img out of 1 style?

To remove an avatar, delete the following from either the postibt or postbit_legacy template:

Thanks good advice comming from a newbie lol J/K
any other advice that would help speed up the page?
I Know removing the image from the top would help but is there anything else I could do?

You could just strip the style, getting rid of all references to images and just use text links. But of course, this means, you'll have to edit every template to get rid of all images, LOL
