Sorry but vbt.com is very slow
 

I am regular on vb.com and vb.org, but dont like to visit vbt.com coz it loads very very slow :(
I am on dial-up 56K only

PLease i request the authors of this site, to either make the site load fast (cut off huge graphics)
OR
atleast put some lite style in place.

I also request the admin to change my username from san-deep to SaN-DeeP

When I was on 56k, the site loaded at a decent speed for me. And as vB.com, vB.org and vBT.com are all hosted on the same server, one cannot be slow and the other 2 fast. Heck, vB.org's style is probably more image orientated then ours.

I am on 56k and the site loads fine for me, vBulletin.org's dark blue is slower acully.

We are trying to keep this place in its current state as jerry is testing the import process and I don't want to break anything for him. Your current acount here will be associated with your vB.org acount, and all posts etc. will use your vB.org name after the merge.

thats fine Brat.. I hope if our existing PMs and Thread subscriptions wont have problems after import :)

I use Greenish style on vb.org and it loads very very fast compared to this vbt.com style

O don't get me wrong I understand how bad 56k can be with a style like we have here. Espesscally when it comes to loading it without a local cache.

I was planning on adding lighter styles here, but as we are merging with vBulletin.org I don't think it would be worth the time to do it here as vB.org already has lighter styles anyway :)

Without a cache, it would be terrible, that's for sure.

You also have to see, that especially Plain Green of vb.org is exactly made for the purpose to be very fast.

I spent hours on optimizing it, and reduce every unnessecary bit of code.

So just look forward to our merge ;)

He is right. I am on DSL and sometimes T-1 and this site is very slow to open. Besides there is a javascript error on every showthread page. Line 57 char 24 is null or not an object

I have like a sensation that vb.com and vb.org are constantly down because they are being brought down by vbtemplates.

That is wrong. Not one site is to blame for any downtime that may occur on the server. It's the server is general. Besides that, we do not know what's going on with the server or why its down or slow when it is. It's pure speculation.

vBT is less resource intensive than either vB.com/org as they both have users online in the 100's if not more compared to our 50 at peaks.

vBT's current design makes abit too much use of nested tables which will slow IE based browsers down, If brad can give me the style i would like to make improvements to my original port of it :)
