Custom page permissions

Hi ive made a few custom pages with my vb header and footer,ive made it so unregged members cannot see the navbar menu.
However you can still view the links if you call the file directly.
how can i make it so only registered users will be able to view my custom pages.

would i look in the actual php file or edit the templates with an <if> statement?
