It was suggested that I ask here
 
for a mod that I'm looking for..
My original question was for a way to force the forum to return directly to the forum page, rather than the thread page, after making a post, but someone said that perhaps it could be done with a redirect?
Can anyone help me out with that? :)

What version of vB are you running? I think it is just a case of editing the REDIRECT template to direct back to the homepage

The code is in the standard_redirect templete I think you are going to have to set some new variables or change the vaules of the ones in the templete...
