catergory strips and table headings

I have a question.

If you look at the pic you will see that my news box shares the same gradient as my catergory strips do.

Except the gradient won't show up on the catergory strips like it does in the news box. It used too until I lost the DB and had to re do it all. I think their was a code in the CSS or somethin that made it have that sort of embossed look, but I do not remember it.

Can someone please help? Thank you.
