VB3 skinning question

Alright, first let me appologize because I'm sure I've put this in the wrong place but I really didn't know where to start it at.

I am currently running a 2.x version of vb and I've got about 5 skins that I am going to lose when I upgrade to vb3 because I've bought them from ravio.com, and we all know what's going on with them. Now that I've settled down some about that I've decided that I'd like to not put myself in that position again, so I was curious about designing my own skins. Now I know how to play with the fonts, colors, settings in the vbadmin section. Thats not what i am wanting. I'd like to know how to create an entirely different look to my forums as some of the skins out there do. I'm not to bad at graphics and I have some members on my site who are wonderful at them so I think we can come up with some nice concepts. But I don't know how to start. Is there a tutorial available for this or can someone direct me to a thread concerning this?

I appreciate you taking the time to read this and hope some of you reply.

this whole site is a tutorial.

it explains how to do small things to vbulletin to modify its look :)

fair enough but where should I begin. I've searched around and see lots of already made templetes, and skins but I don't want them pre made.

Calidaffer, when I upgraded it took me all just a few hours to learn the board and do my 5 templates over again. Once you do that first one you will see how easy it is to do them.

I've gone back and played around with them somemore now, and have learned new things everytime that I do.

thanks lady Ginasue, I'm excited about the upgrade and can't wait to do it so I can start playing around with some skinning
