If I didn't know better, I'd be thinking you're plugging your board for votes here. :p

Zachery 01-03-2004 10:49 PM

and that can get you DQed ;D

No, the rules specifically say you can mention the contest and that your board is in it, but you cannot ask for votes.

Which I havent thank you very much ;-) I am just happy to be in it. I have nothing to lose ;-)

Yeah, I think we're that evil. ;)

- the owner or any other person rallies for votes. This does not include mentioning just the fact that the board is in the contest. You may also point out "features" in this thread.

IMO, that is a very stupid rule. If you mention that your board is in the contest, you're obviously wanting votes. And that's why you posted the link to the voting thread here.

But, it's their contest and their rules, so good luck. :)

Actually its a good rule and I doubt anyone reading this is suddently feeling inclinded to vote for my site over the others.

As a moderator why arent you posting notices like this in here? I figure VOBTM would be a big deal on all the VB sites. I was initially suprised I didnt see it so I posted. Sorry to offend...

Why? I'm sure everyone who comes to vBT would also frequent vB.com and all, and know about their competitions. vBT, even though a sister site to vB.com, is still its own community too.

Releases of vB, yes, it concerns vBT. VBOTM does not concern vBT unless our forum was actually in it. No point in wasting time in posting something that doesn't serve much good, as I have pointed out above.

If a member wants to post it because their board is in it, that's fine. But it's not a frequent thing the staff should do. ;)
