Making a decent header image...

hey.

I was just wondering, if you make a header image with all the 'home' user panel' 'calenderar' and 'members list' etc etc on it, would i simple just slice the image and then stick the html in the header template?


For example, I've attached 2 images. I wanna turn these into my new header for my forums (www.indeathwefall.co.uk/forums)

also, i forgot to mention, how do you make it so one 768-25image is shown to a new member with 'Register' indicated and then another one with 'control panel' on it?

Whats the code used here?
