White or Wojen?

Hey guys. I want to become a little more active here, so I am gonna be posting interesting topics.

Undoubtedly these two designers are recognized as the "leaders of the pack" in vBulletin design and integration. They have proven themselves numerous times, with many great designs, such as WiredGamers (White) and yaXay (Wojen).

Dameon White made a loud introduction with his first forum design, WiredGamers. Since them many have inquired for his services, including yours truly. He has shown great skill, sets nice trends, and is trying to make a name for himself. He is also trying to get past that "Ravio" look that people are always trying to accomplish when designing their forums. He worked for Ravio for a short time, but resigned shortly after. He has yet to complete his web presence, InsideThePixel, but it should be open shortly.

Corey Wojen, on the other hand, has been around a while. Starting off with c-pr0mptforums (which became yaXay), Corey for a long time has been acclaimed as the best vBulletin designer that money can buy. After launching yaXay in February of 2002, months later he opened up Ravio, his design firm. While conterversy has been tied with his name for a little while (search "Ravio" up at WebHostingTalk.com), he is nothing short of an amazing design.

Now lets say you had $1500. That is more than enough to get a top-notch design and a good amount of hacks from either designer. You ca fantasize as much as you want, and these designers really do put it on the table. Who would you go with? Don't like either? Tell me who you like.

I went with Dameon, and I am happy so far. ;)

If I had $1500 to spend on a design I'd get it done by someone else who will create something unique and special. Those two, although they're very skilled at what they do, only seem to create similar looking things all the time, for example look at Corey's web designs, most of them are very similar.

Well, due to the previous threads and such, I would personally go with Dameon, I have seen AlienSoup.com and WiredGamers.com and would not think twice.

if i had 1500 quid to spend i would give it to someone that might deliver, this wojen dood seems to like to rip people off judging by the amount of complaints and litigation he has at most places like this.......

Their designs are nice, they look nice, but they are far from user friendly. From this I mean the amount of images in each of their design is shocking. For someone on a 56k, just loading the page takes a long time. They may aim to make design for Broadband users, but the reality is not everyone is on broadband. And you can loose traffic by using a broadband-friendly design.

But out of these two, I choose Dameon. Designs look nicer. :)

*sniff sniff* I'd like to thank God and...lol just kidding... :)

Wojen was a fad IMO, but now he's had his 15MB of fame, time to move on to someone else - so 'd choose Dameon too.

You deserve it, I know it's hard work out there. :)
