Ad space between 1st and 2nd category !?

Hello,

Lets say, I have 5 Categories:

Category 1
Category 2
Category 3
Category 4
Category 5

Is it possible to have Ad space of say 150px in height and width same as table width between Category 1 and Category 2 ??
There should be no spacing between other forums and they should remain attached one below each other.

If yes, Kindly someone help me how to do this ??

I am using vB ver 2.3.0 stable release.

Thank you for any help.

Cheers

Not without hacking, unless you wouldn't mind this:
  • Category 1
  • Category 2
  • Category 3
    • Category 4 (sub of 3)
    • Category 5 (sub of 3)

Or you could add a Category 6...

  • Category 1
  • Category 2
  • Category 6
    • Category 3 (sub of 6)
    • Category 4 (sub of 6)
    • Category 5 (sub of 6)

I just want space only between the 1st category and 2nd category, while the rest will remain intact on the forum homepage.

With your suggestion, creating the subforums, how would i get blank ad space ?? Also, if its sub categories, will the sub categories be displayed on the home page of teh forums ??

Thanks much

Check over at vBulletin.org, hacking related questions should be directed there instead :)

Yes, the subforums will appear on your main display page. As for making space for an Ad, that would be up to you.

If you want to treat some categories differently from others, by making something happen to 1 and 2, but not 3, 4 or 5, that would take hacking. Templates are only used where there's a lot of similar things that will be treated the same.

You can't do this without hacking (if this is what you want):
  • Category 1
    --- === ad === ---
  • Category 2
    --- === ad === ---
  • Category 3
  • Category 4
  • Category 5
All of the categories would have to be seperated, or none of them. Can't have it both ways without hacking.

I wanted to have both.
yes, I just want category 1 to be spaced out from the rest of the categories below category 1.

I mean, It'll be like this :

Cat 1
==AD Space Of width equivalent to the forum table and height of say 150 Px ==
Cat 2
Cat 3
Cat 4
Cat 5 .. and soo on.

There would be no space between any of the other categories other than cat 1 and cat 2 !

Thanks for any help !

Cheers
