I would like to add view new posts and mark all forums read in my welcome panel. Can someone help please.

Just copy the links from the appropriate templates in the forumhome group.

I am very new at this. Can you give me better direction. Or help me with the codes?

Use the template search engine (Admin CP > Templates > Search) to find the link text, and then copy and paste them.

Tried that. I do not have a view new posts anywhere in my design. I just need the code. I know where to put it.

Look in your forumhome template, if it has not been changed, you should have a "View New Posts" section within it.

If it has been changed, when trying to edit the template, click on the "View Original" link and search that template for a "View New Posts" snippet.

My mistake, you should be looking for something to the effect of:

$newposts

View New Posts is defined as a variable.
