Automatic backup

I would love to have a script, which makes automatic backup once a month. It must maka a .zip archive of the fields I choose from the MySQL table (like post, attachments members & threads) and e-mail me. Is this possible - maybe together with MyPHP Admin? ;)

Yes, but no hacks around. As I understand - it would be quite advanced - isn't it. Maybe, Tony, you can post it to other great vb sites you know?! Because I only had the idea, but don't have the time. Can you, can anybody?

It can be done with a cron job; here's what I use. Beware though that I haven't put functionality in to close the boards first then reopen them after the dump is complete, but if your board is relatively inactive it's not a problem.

Also back up daily, not monthly! There have been times were I would have been royally screwed if I had to use a month-old backup.

Depends on how busy your forum is. I agree monthly is too long but considering the size of WDF I see why you do it daily. ;)
