can someone list all the templates youd have to edit to make the table backgrounds be gradients (all)? Is there a easier way to doing this, other than going in 1 by 1?

You could make {tableouterextra} be background="someimage.gif". Provided the templates in question follow vB's normal nested table scheme then it should work.
