How do you modify your board?

1: Keep a local installation of vBulletin, make a bunch of modifications, then upload the .style to the real installation
2: Modify the live installation directly

Just curious. Personally I do the first one because I don't want to mess up my live installation with a screwed up mod. Also localhost is sometimes faster than my normal host, and by using localhost I don't count against my bandwidth quota :)

It depends really. If its a small modification then i'll do it on a live forum. If its not, something major, then i'll do it locally:)

We have a CVS on my site. I keep a test board on server for test that resets to my live boards files, templates and DB every week.

I couldnt get the thing to run it from your comp to work right :(

Did you see my tutorial? Teck's is different and uses Apache 2, IIRC.
