cms system

I know it's in a thread here somewhere?

the cms system here and at vborg was something made by firefly made and could be purchased.

but for the life of me I can't find the direct reference to it anymore.

I know after VB3 comes out the vb team will be working on a vb3 cms but this one is available now and seems to be quite functional.

Contact FireFly at vB.org and he'll give you the details etc.

whats a cms???

Razgo 10-12-2002 03:34 AM

cms = content management system.

just like the front end of this site.

there is also sites like postnuke, Xoops etc... which are cms/portal systems.

however, in the truest sense of a "true" cms this site is a good example: http://www.techimo.com/

VirtuaNews !
integrate perfectly with vbulletin
Tingle ( the programmer ) is doing an exellent job adding modules ( 1 click hack/addon ) expanding the functionaliti of virtua news.
Have a look at it @ http://www.virtuanews.co.uk

thanks for that Mone', for US$100.00 or would go back to using postnuke or xoops or vbportal, for free.

they are using invisionboard forums for their intergration, and looks more like a portal, which is fine but just not for me at the moment.

I guess I just like the simplicity of this site and vborg with the way intergates.

You could try vBindex, it dose alot of what Fireflys portal dose. Or if you wnt to wait a bit Neo (not from here or vB.org) is doing a databridge with postnuke and vbulletin.

Hi Anime-loo, whats a vbindex? sounds interesting.
if i had the time i could sit down and study more php and how to do all this, but thats not an option for me.

as for postnuke and vbullten the guy who made vbportal had a beta site where he was testing a full/better intergration and that was looking good too.
