Inserting News into a template
 

I'd like to insert some news into my site. In a column on the right hand side of my forum. An RSS file or XML file or something. I really don't know much about it all. So I'm hoping someone can help me out. What kind of script do I need, where do I get the news stream and how would I implement it into one of my templates?

I have been to the site Moreover.com looking for news streams because everyone says that's the place to get them, but I just haven't been able to find or understand anything there. It all just sounds like marketing talk to me.

I realize this post borders on the edge of not really belonging on this site. But being as I'm trying to get news into one of my templates on my vb I'm hoping the mods here can overlook the fact that I'm looking for the whole solution and not just template implementation since one isn't any good without the other. Hopefully someone here can clear things up.

Do you want to put in the news by yourself or use some script?

I'd like to use existing RSS files.

If you link to it just like that would it shows news?

There's a hack for this on vB.org [link]. I don't know how you'd do it other wise.
