How do I make the forum description field....

bigger? I need to add my sub forums there with links but it's not working because the field only allows a certain length, any ideas on how to make it bigger so more info can be added?

I am talking about the field that says

Description
You may use HTML

Under Admin control panel/Forums/Modify/edit a forum....

I don't even think it's possible to make them bigger. They allow alot of room though, why would you need that much room for a description?

I believe to do that you would need to modify vBulletins files as well as a part of the database in order to accept larger descriptions.

Just because I have about 10 subforums and I wanted to make them as links. I've seen it done at other sites, that is why I thought it might have been easier to do.... thanks for the input!

Can I have a link to one of these other sites that has it done? I don't quiet get what ya mean.

There is a sub-forum hack that makes the links automatically, it is over at vBulletin.org, I believe that is what you are seeing on other websites.

I also mentioned that in the PM Massie you sent me last night.

Yes Tony, I read it and told you I was going to go look for it... Found it! It actually says that it creates lots of queries (not even sure what's wrong with that) so I am going to see what it does.... Thank you!

Thats not so good. It can slow down your loading.

But try it and see how it affects your querie number.
